Author Guidelines
Authors are requested to carefully follow the manuscript preparation guidelines outlined below before submitting their work to SANKALPA. These formatting standards ensure consistency, clarity, and a professional presentation of research across all submitted articles. Submissions that do not comply with the journal's style and structure may be returned for revision prior to peer review. Adhering to these instructions will help expedite the editorial process and improve the visibility and readability of your work.
Title
- Title case, Times New Roman 15pt, Bold, Center aligned
- No full stop at end; avoid “I/We” (except in editorials, etc.)
- Prepositions/conjunctions in lowercase; in vitro, in vivo italicized
Author Names & Affiliations
- Author Names: Title case, 11pt Bold, Justified; initials after last name; “and” before last author; no full stops
- Superscript for affiliations; asterisk (*) for corresponding author
- Affiliations: Title case, 10pt Normal, Justified; no designations; pin/zip code after city
Corresponding Author
- Start with asterisk (*Corresponding Author:); 10pt, Justified
- Format: Name, Affiliation, Address; Tel: XXX; Fax: XXX; E-mail: XXX
Abstract
- Heading: 11pt Bold; Content: 10pt Normal, Justified
- Max 250 words; no formulae, acronyms, or citations; graphical abstract optional
Keywords
- Heading: 11pt Bold; Content: 10pt Bold, Sentence case
- Separate with semicolons (;); no full stop
Abbreviations & Acronyms
- Heading: 11pt Bold; Content: 10pt Normal, Sentence case
- Define on first use; lowercase for general terms; capitalize proper nouns
Body Text
- Main Headings: Title case, 11pt Bold, Left aligned
- Subheadings: Sentence case, 10pt Bold; Sub-sub: Bold with colon (:) and continue in same paragraph
- Citations: Use square brackets [1], [2,4], [5-7]; use author name with citation; cite in order of appearance
Figures & Tables
- Heading: 10pt Bold; Legend: 10pt Normal; legends end with full stop
- Cite as Figure 1a, Table 2b; abbreviations in legends must be listed in Abbreviations section
References
- Heading: 11pt Bold; Content: 10pt Normal; Vancouver style
- Sentence case titles; scientific names italicized; use “et al.” after 6th author
- Ensure all citations match references; remove duplicates
- Example: Halpern SD, Ubel PA, Caplan AL. Solid-organ transplantation in HIV-infected patients. N Engl J Med. 2002;347(4):284-7.
Units & Measurements
- Use SI units; correct format: 123 g ± 2 g; 70% ± 5%
- Decimals as 0.25 not .25; no space before °C or %
- Use thin space before units and math symbols; equations in MathType/LaTeX
